Owner-specific modifications:
Closed in areas above kitchen and study

The residents of Knox County, Tenn., trust four-term Sheriff Tim
Hutchison to help keep the peace. A police officer since 1975,
Tim is the man for the job. He knows the law—and lumber, too. In
1972, Tim, a licensed contractor, started his own construction
company, an effort with which he is still involved. Tim chose Plan
AHP-9340 because of its overall design and because the home plan's size
was appropriate for his family, which includes his wife of 30 years,
two daughters and two granddaughters.
Tim built the home, which his family now enjoys to the fullest.
"[Our favorite features are] the Great Room windows and
cathedral ceiling," he says.
The Hutchison family chose a common approach to building their dream
home: They started with a quality pre-drawn home plan, then modified
it to fit their specific needs. Tim likes this approach, telling us
that he would build from a stock home plan in the future, and
recommend the strategy to others as well.
Asked what the future may hold for his home, Tim responds, "We'll
[add] on [to the home] if our family continues to grow!"
It sounds like the Hutchisons are on the right track—and in the
right home.
