Mirror Reversed Plan
Texan Jim Inman wanted a retirement home in the country. He found the
country—a remote, north-central-Texas lot about 70 miles from the
Dallas/Forth Worth area—so all he needed was the home.
Enter Plan H-863-2, a handsome dwelling with a smaller footprint,
multiple floors and levels, and large deck areas for relaxation and
wildlife-watching. Jim, a project manager in the aviation training
industry, found the design both practical and eye-catching, and set
about building his dream home. Construction began in May 2002, and
wrapped up in December of that year with a home that nicely
complements its surroundings.
Jim built this 1,740-square-foot home for an impressive $115,000.
"Considering the large deck and balconies, that's a bargain
at today's prices," he says.
When asked to name his favorite features of the home, Jim is quick
to answer. "The vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams, and
the large deck areas on multiple levels."
Future plans include a wet bar and a bath in the basement (the
plumbing is already roughed in).
"I was very pleased with your plans," says Jim.
"Overall, the plans were clear and the detail was sufficient.
We were able to make slight changes to accommodate my terrain and
personal style."
Thanks, Jim, and enjoy your new home.
